'Te Uri o Hau is a Northland hapu grouping of Ngati Whatua whose area of interest is located in the Northern Kaipara region. Te Uri o Hau descended from Haumoewaarangi through Hakiputatomuri, who is Te Uri o Hau's founding ancestor. Te Uri o Hau has approximately 6000 members and ancestral marae at Otamatea, Waikaretu, Oruawharo, and Arapaoa. Te Uri o Hau also have ten whanau within the region.'
