'Enertrade is the trading name of the Queensland Power Trading Corporation (ABN 39 262 390 374), a wholesale energy trader corporation owned by the Queensland Government in Australia.
The Corporation was originally established as part of the restructuring of Queensland's electricity industry. It has since developed to be an active participant in Australia's competitive energy market.
Enertrade owns a gas fired power station at Barcaldine and also purchases electricity from privately owned stations through Power Purchase Agreements and trades this into the National Electricity Market.
Enertrade is also constructing a gas pipeline and associated compression facilities between Moranbah and Townsville.' This activity is the subject of the North Queensland Gas Pipeline Southern, Central and Northern Indigenous Land Use Agreements (National Native Title Tribunal file no. QI2002/049, QI2002/019 and QI2002/020). |
