    In 1982, the Tungavik Federation of Nunavut (TFN) succeeded the Inuit Tapirisat of Canada (ITC) as the negotiation body for the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement. The TFN represented the Inuit of the Nunavut Settlement Area to sign the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement in 1993.
