    Yukon is a territory of Canada, established in 1898. The population of Yukon Territory is 29,960. By area, Yukon Territory accounts for 4.8 percent of Canada's landmass, or 483,450 square kilometres.

    While not constitutionally equal to a province, Yukon provides many provincial-like services to the community, such as control of public lands, forests and mineral resources. The legislative assembly of Yukon consists of 18 elected members.
