Summary Information:
The Gwich'in Tribal Council was established to represent Gwich'in people in the Gwich'in Comprehensive Land Claims Agreement (GCLCA) in 1992. The GTC manages land and funds provided under the GCLCA. It is the primary Gwich'in organisation for the Gwich'in Settlement Region.

The GTC has formed various organisations to carry out the GCLCA. These include:
- Gwich'in Development Corporation
- Gwich'in Settlement Corporation
- Gwich'in Social and Cultural Institute
- Gwich'in Enrolment Board
- Gwich'in Renewable Resource Board
- Gwich'in Land and Water Board
- Ehdiitat Gwich'in Council (Aklavik)
- Gwichya Gwich'in Council (Tsiigehtchic)
- Nihtat Gwich'in Council/Inuvik Native Band (Inuvik)
- Tetlit Gwich'in Council (Fort McPherson)

More recently, the Gwich'in Tribal Council negotiated a self-government Agreement-in-Principle with the Inuvialuit for the Beaufort-Delta Region.
