Summary Information:
The province of Alberta was established in 1905, although its present boundaries vary greatly from its original inclusion as one of the four provincial districts of the Northwest Territories. Its current population is almost three million. The Government of Alberta is composed of an elected 83 seat Legislative Assembly, with executive government being exercised by the Cabinet and Premier. Federal representation consists of 26 members of parliament and six senators.
