The Gunditjmara are the traditional owners of southwest Victoria. The Budj Bim National Heritage Landscape in this area has been listed as a Heritage Place on the National Heritage list. It shows significant evidence of a sophisticated system of acquaculture and eel farming as well as stone dwellings (Department of Environment and Heritage 2004). |
