Summary Information:
The Australian Health Ministers' Advisory Council (AHMAC), is an advisory body to the Australian Health Ministers' Medical Conference (AHMC). The AHMC provides a mechanism through which the Commonwealth Government, state and territory and New Zealand governments discuss matters of mutual interest concerning health policy, services and programs. Neither the Conference nor the Council has statutory powers, and decisions are reached by consensus.
