The Mataranka Community Government administered local government services in Mataranka. The functions of the Community Government included the establishment and maintenance of: - parks and gardens - communications - sports facilities, libraries, community halls - waste disposal - adult education - community housing - roads - contractual works - fire-fighting service - tourist attractions. However, it was absorbed by the Roper Gulf Shire Council in 2008 as part of the large scale amalgamation process in the Northern Territory. |
