| The Yungngora 'Health and Hygiene Facilities' Shared Responsibility Agreement (SRA) was signed in May 2005. The SRA provides the local community with an ablutions block and laundromat to improve the health and hygiene of locals and visitors. Shared Responsibility Agreements are agreements between governments and Indigenous communities to provide discretionary funding in return for community obligations. The new arrangements developed from an initiative of the Council of Australian Governments and replace the previous ATSIC system of funding. | Shared Responsibilities The Yungngora Community will build the new ablutions block and laundromat. They will maintain the facilities and use revenue from the laundromat to employ a manager. The Commonwealth government will fund the construction of the facilities with a grant of $146,757. The Office of Indigenous Policy Coordination (OIPC) will contribute $101,302 for the construction of an ablution facility and a laundromat. The Department of Health and Ageing (DHA) are proposing a total of $45,455. The Yungngora SRA is administered by the Derby Indigenous Coordination Centre. | ||
