Summary Information:

The Waluwarra Aboriginal Corporation was incorporated in March 1997 under the Aboriginal Councils and Associations Act 1976 (Cth) and is recorded on the Register of Aboriginal Corporations (ORAC). The rules of the Corporation list the objects of its establishment as to:

'1. Prepare and promote the cultural heritage, language and material well-being of the Waluwarra People.
2. Obtain security of tenure over traditional Waluwarra land in the North western region.
3. Provide basic community services to members and alleviate poverty.
4. Facilitate the researching, preparation or making of claims by Waluwarra people within the area of association for determination of Native Title or for compensation for Acts affecting Native Title.
5. To assist in the resolutions of disagreements among such individuals or groups about making such claims.'
