The Injinoo Land Trust is an Aboriginal Land Trust established to hold land granted in 1999 under the Aboriginal Land Act 1991 (Qld) (the Act) (Department of Defence, ATSIC/Army Community Assistance Program 2004 Factsheet). The Trust holds land for the benefit of Aboriginal people, their ancestors and descendants. It is required to comply with the administrative and financial requirements of the Aboriginal Land Regulation 1991 (Qld). The land held by the Trust comprises seven parcels of former Aboriginal reserve and former DOGIT (Deed of Grand in Trust) land at Injinoo Lands and one parcel of land declared transferable under the Act at McDonnell Telegraph Station, located in the Cape York Peninsula.
