| Miimi Mothers is an Indigenous community organisation based in Bowraville, a small town in northern NSW with significant economic and social issues. Miimi Mothers is a service run by local Aboriginal women which runs programs including grief counselling, liaison with families on school attendance issues, crisis accommodation, and drug and alcohol assistance. It also helps local community members to connect with mainstream services by translating information in culturally appropriate ways. Miimi Mothers is a signatory to the Bowraville 'Supporting a Valued Community Service' Shared Responsibility Agreement (SRA), which will provide them with a new base for their operations. |
