| The Future Act - Mining Agreement is a template Future Act Agreement provided by the National Native Title Tribunal (NNTT). It is envisaged by the NNTT that these agreements will be used to assist Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians to negotiate Future Act Agreements that can be tailored to their specific needs and circumstances. The Future Act - Mining Agreement is designed to be used for negotiations between a native title party and the Mining Lease grantee and grantor. The template agreement covers matters including: (a) sites of significance and the possible discovery of cultural items; (b) a guarantee that the native title party will be provided with regular reports detailing the amount of sand and gravel taken out from the agreement area; (c) the process for altering the Agreement; (d) dispute resolution procedures; and (e) the compensation to be paid to the native title party. | ||
