| The Work Area Clearance Agreement is a template Future Act Agreement provided by the National Native Title Tribunal (NNTT). It is envisaged by the NNTT that these agreements will be used to assist Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians to negotiate Future Act Agreements that can be tailored to their specific needs and circumstances. The Work Area Clearance Agreement is designed to be used for negotiations between a mining exploration company and a native title party. The template agreement covers matters including: (a) stipulating that the mining exploration company will provide the native title party with a copy of their Work Programme, and will only undertake activities in accordance with that programme; (b) sites of significance and the possible discovery of cultural items; (c) employment of members of the native title party; and (d) environmental protection. | ||
