| The Claims Negotiating Framework - Regional Agreement is a template Negotiating Framework Agreement provided by the National Native Title Tribunal (NNTT). It is envisaged by the NNTT that these agreements will be used to assist Indigenous Australians and non-Indigenous Australians to negotiate Negotiating Framework Agreements that can be tailored to their specific needs and circumstances. The Claims Negotiating Framework - Regional Agreement is designed to be made between native title claimants and people affected by those native title claims, with the aim of coming to an Agreement in Principle for that region. The template agreement covers areas for negotiation, including: rights of access; culture and heritage protection; land and offshore co-management issues; resource revenue sharing; and procedures where native title claims overlap. The agreement further stipulates that nothing contained within it will affect any of the existing rights of any of the parties. | ||
