The Cancer Council Tasmania is 'a community organisation that works to minimise the impact of cancer on all Tasmanians' (Cancer Council Website, February 2007).
It is one of eight members of the Australian national non-government cancer control organisation, the Cancer Council Australia (formerly known as the Australian Cancer Society).
