Launched by the Prime Minister in 2004, the National Community Crime Prevention Program (NCCP) has three funding streams, including funding of up to $150,000 for the 'Indigenous Community Safety Stream' (Attorney-General's Department Website, 2007).
Prime Minister John Howard noted that 'the centrepiece of the programme is a national community grants scheme to support grass roots projects designed to prevent crime and improve community safety and security.' |
