Summary Information:
The Tjurabalan people are referred in Ngalpil v State of Western Australia [2001] FCA 1140 as those people who hold native title and a common body of traditional law and culture within a determined land area. They have cultural and geographic association with areas including Gregory Salt Lake (Paruku), Sturt Creek (Tjurabalan and the adjacent portions of the Tanimi Desert (Ngaluwan) and the Gardiner Range (Lirrankarni). They include members of the Walmajirra, Jaru and Nyininy language groups. The community is comprised of around 950 people.
