Summary Information: | ||
The Inverell 'Youth Activity Centre' Shared Responsibility Agreement (SRA) was developed between the Inverell Indigenous Community, the Commonwealth Government, the New South Wales Government, the Inverell Shire Council, Joblink Plus and Best Employment Ltd on 7 December 2006. This SRA aims to reduce the vandalism and crime committed by young people in Inverell, as well as to 'support local youth to improve educational outcomes', through the building of a Youth Activity Centre. Shared Responsibility Agreements are agreements between governments and Indigenous communities to provide discretionary funding in return for community obligations. The new arrangements developed from an initiative of the Council of Australian Governments and replace the previous ATSIC system of funding. For more information see 'Shared Responsibility Agreement' below. | ||
