The Memorandum of Understanding for a 99-Year Lease (MOU) on Nguiu was agreed to in May 2007.
A spokesperson for the Mantiyupwi traditional owners, Brian Clancy, said that 130 of the 270 traditional owners had agreed to the terms of the MOU (see Stafford 2007).
Further consultation was reguired before the Nguiu 99-Year Lease was signed in August 2007. |
