According to their website, Impala Platinum is the primary operations arm of Implats Limited, a major platinum mining company based in the Republic of South Africa.
They have operations in the 'Bushveld Complex', north west of Johannesburg, considered to be the most significant identified platinum reserves in the world (Manson & Mbenga, 2003, 28) which covers an area of 260 square kilometres. In the 2006 financial year, their mining operations produced 1,125 ounces of platinum. |
