The Broadcasting for Remote Aboriginal Communities Scheme (BRACS)is a network of community broadcast stations which was introduced in 1987 by the Commonwealth Government. The Scheme's concept was to give Aboriginal and Islander people access to and control of their own media at a community level (BRACS, 2007).
