    Summary Information:
The Brewarrina 'Establishing Parks for Family Activities' Shared Responsibility Agreement is an agreement between the Australian government and the Brewarrina Indigenous Community. The object of this SRA is to create two garden parks in Barwon Four and Brewarrina with tables, seating and BBQ within a shaded area.

Shared Responsibility Agreements are agreements between governments and Indigenous communities to provide discretionary funding in return for community obligations. The new arrangements developed from an initiative of the Council of Australian Governments and replace the previous ATSIC system of funding. For more information see 'Shared Responsibility Agreement' below.
    Detailed Information:
    Purpose
The purpose of this SRA is to provide the community of Brewarrina with a safe, enjoyable environment. It is hoped this will increase community pride and participation and result in stronger families.

    Shared Responsibilities
The community has agreed to build and maintain the parks, including mowing, caring for plants and the maintenance of the structures within the park. This will be done with both CDEP and volunteer labour.

The Office of Indigenous Policy Coordination (OIPC) proposes to provide $33,000 for the upgrade of parks and for the installation of an irrigation system. The Department of Employment and Workplace Relations proposes in-kind support, through the CDEP program.

NOTE: This funding is subject to the partners entering into a legally binding funding agreement.

    Performance Indicators and Feedback Mechanisms

The development and maintenance of the parks will be monitored by Northern Star CDEP organisation. In addition, Brewarrinna Business Centre will oversee the finances for this initiative.
