| The Womens' Karadi Aboriginal Corporation 'Return To Work' Shared Responsibility Agreement (SRA) is an agreement between the Women's Karadi Aboriginal Corporation, the Department of Families, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaCSIA) and the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR). Shared Responsibility Agreements are agreements between governments and Indigenous communities to provide discretionary funding in return for community obligations. The new arrangements developed from an initiative of the Council of Australian Governments and replace the previous ATSIC system of funding. | Purpose The purpose of this SRA is to assist women with their re-entry into the workforce through Centrelink's Job Network System. The Karadi Aboriginal Corporation will run a program to give the women confidence and skills for this re-entry. This SRA also addresses the need for some women who have not previously participated within the workforce a program to enter into this system. The Women's Aboriginal Corporation provides the community care services and a resource centre which is funded by the Indigenous Coordination Centre (ICC). The centre's mission is to provide the community with resources, education and support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Women and their families. Shared Responsibilities The Women's Karadi Aboriginal Corporation will, with assistance of an Indigenous Youth Employment Coordinator, locate participants for the program, and they will also provide a venue for the training. FaCSIA will purchase ten laptop computers and the necessary programs and Karadi will insure these laptops and provide any ongoing maintenance. Records of the participants will be made with Job Network numbers by Karadi. Relationship building will also be a focus and assisting this process Karadi is to host morning teas in which Job Network Members and Centrelink can meet with participants. Individuals have agreed to (throughout stage one and two) participate in the Guiding Circles Program, attend a meeting with Centrelink and their Job Network member to register for the Job Network and identify a work area of their choice. They have also agreed to commit to attend training provided, keep in contact with their Job network member, and attend work experience placement and training with Job Network Member support. NOTE: This funding is subject to the partners entering into a legally binding funding agreement. | ||
