The South African Mining Development Association represents the interests of small mining companies and black economic empowerment mining companies. According to its website, its aim is 'to create an enabling environment for:
raising finance;
developing technical and other skills;
practicing responsible environmental management and sustainable development; and
the maintenance of standards of good practice in the junior mining sector.'
They are one of several organisations involved in the development of the Broad-Based Socio-Economic Empowerment Charter for the South African Mining Industry. |
