The Western Australian Aboriginal Cultural Respect - Implementation Framework (the 'Framework') was developed by the Western Australian Department of Health in 2005.
The Framework aims to implement goals identified in the National Cultural Respect Framework for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health 2004-2009, in order to achieve improved cultural respect and health outcomes for Indigenous persons in the health care system.

The purpose of the Framework is to set achievable goals and a methodology for the implementation of the National Cultural Respect Framework for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health 2004-2009.
The framework has four key parts:
An aboriginal impact statement for policy and program development;
Services reform through cultural partnerships, education, review and practice development;
Aboriginal workforce development; and,
Monitoring and evaluation.
A departmental committee will be responsible for the development of further implementation plans along with representatives from the policy and planning directorates and the area health services. The committee will be supported by the Western Australian Office of Aboriginal Health.
