The Sydney West Area Health Service (SWAHS) is part of NSW Health (Annual Report 2005-2006, 7). It encompasses nine local government areas (namely, Auburn, Baulkham Hills, Blacktown, Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury, Holroyd, Lithgow, Parramatta and Penrith). As at 2008, this included 13 hospitals or health centres (including Mt Druitt Hospital) (SWAHS website, 2008).
SWAHS is party to a Memorandum of Understanding between the Sydney West Area Health Service and the Aboriginal Medical Service Western Sydney. |
