The National African Farmers Union (NAFU) was formed in 1991 to become the first national-level organisation to represent emerging black farmers. The Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Digest 2005/2006 describes NAFU's aims as being to 'actively promote the interests primarily of black farmers who are largely a disproportionately disadvantaged farming community.' Its principal focus is on lobbying for policy reforms and essential resources such as land and credit. |
