Summary Information: | |
Transvaal Agricultural Union South Africa (TAU SA) is a representative body for individual commercial farmers in the agricultural sector which seeks to ensure:
economic sustainability;
recognition of private ownership rights;
a safe and secure environment.
TAU is opposed to Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) on the basis that BEE poses a threat to private property rights as well as dividing 'economical agricultural units into uneconomical units.' Instead, TAU maintains that the 'proper utilisation of State land, the availability of land on the open market, and the principle of Willing Buyer - Willing Seller' represent more achievable, practical alternatives to BEE.
