The Maryborough City Council was the local government entity for the Maryborough region. Following local government elections on 15 March 2008, Maryborough City Council was amalgamated with Tiaro Shire Council, Woocoo Shire Council and Hervey Bay City Council to form the Fraser Coast Regional Council.
