Detailed Information:
The purpose of the MoU is to expand the Northern Land Council's Jobs and Career Service (JACS) by providing employment opportunities with the Power and Water Corporation to the local Aboriginal community.

The MoU will operate for five years. Under the agreement, the Northern Land Council undertakes to:

(i) 'promote awareness of the Programs to Indigenous persons including within secondary schools;
(ii) encourage Indigenous persons to apply for the Programs;
(iii) provide mentoring and pre-employment training prior to candidates applying for the Programs;
(iv) where appropriate, provide numeracy and literacy assistance to candidates applying for the Programs; and
(v) identify any employment opportunities at Power and Water for Indigenous persons, particularly within remote communities' (see Northern Land Council 2006).
