Opened in February 2007, the Australian Technical College - Pilbara is an independent school which operates in collaboration with TAFE in the Pilbara region.
Australian Technical Colleges are funded by the Australian Government, and established 'in areas where there are skills needs, a high youth population and a strong industry base.' These colleges enable Year 11 and 12 students to concurrently study and begin an apprenticeship (Australian Government Website, 2008). |
