The extract of the ILUA from the Register of Indigenous Land Use Agreements describes the area covered by the agreement as follows: The Agreement Area means the area described and shown in Schedule 1 which for the purposes of this Agreement is the ILUA area. Schedule 1 lists the coordinates of the area for the proposed Traveston Crossing Dam. The area of the ILUA also falls within the jurisdiction of the Gympie Regional Council and the Sunshine Regional Council. | ||

The Traveston Crossing Dam Indigenous Land Use Agreement (ILUA) was agreed between Queensland Water Infrastructure Pty Ltd (QWI)(APPLICANT), Alex Bond, Bessie Bond, Alex Davidson, Barry Donas, Bill Glenbar, Lurlene Henderson, Lynette Johannessen, Andy Muckan, Melita Orcher and Edna Van Hemmen on their own behalf and on behalf of the Kabi Kabi People on 14 April 2008. The purpose of this ILUA is to provide for consent of the native title party to the grant of project rights for the planning, construction, operation, maintenance and ultimate decommissioning of the Traveston Crossing Dam. The ILUA was registered on 14 April 2008, and ends on the earlier of either of QWI interests in the Project being surrendered, cancelled or discontinued or the decommissioning of the Traveston Crossing Dam and any required rehabilitation of the affected land. | ||
Detailed Information: | ||
The parties to the ILUA consent to: - the grant to QWI of the Project rights and their implementation; - the construction, operation and maintenance of the Project and all works necessary or incidental to the Project which is done by, at the request of, or on behalf of QWI; - the implementation and operation of the Project; and - the decommissioning of the Project and the required rehabilitation of land that has been affected by the Project. According to the Queensland Department of Communities, the proposed dam, which affects the Mary River, will cover approximately 9,800 hectares at full capacity. |
