The Tiwi Enterprises Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Eric Tipiloura, Matthew Wonaeamirri, Walter Kerinaiua Jnr and Cyril Kalippa of Tiwi Enterprises Pty Ltd and Andrew Patterson, the General Manager of Great Southern Tiwi Islands Project on 21 November 2007 at the Maxwell Creek forestry headquarters.

The MoU provides for an initial $500,000 worth of seasonal acacia plantation work provided by Tiwi Enterprises for Great Southern (Koori Mail). In the first stage of the work, Tiwi Enterprises Pty Ltd will provide six workers from Pirlangimpi on Melville Island to plant 184 acres at Maxwell Creek.

It is hoped that this work, which has previously been done largely by backpackers, will come to be fully contracted to Tiwi Islanders (ABC News).
