According to its website, the Central Queensland Pipeline Pty Ltd (CQP) is a "50:50 joint venture between Arrow Energy and AGL Energy. It has been performing a detailed study on the pipeline which will form a key link in delivering coal seam gas from the Moranbah Gas Processing plant to Gladstone where it will connect into the national pipeline grid and to LNGI's proposed liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant at Fisherman's Island. The pipeline will be laid in a 30 metre wide corridor from the existing compressor station at Moranbah generally south to southeast to Gladstone with a total length of approximately 440 kilometres."
The website also states that the CQP project "is well advanced in all areas with all environmental studies completed, native title and cultural heritage agreements in place and easements obtained for over 70 percent of the route."
The CQP project is an integral part of the overall Arrow/AGL investment into the Bowen Basin coal seam gas fields. An accelerated exploration and production well drilling program is being undertaken to prove up the gas reserves in Arrow's Bowen Basin acreage by the end of 2009 (CQP Website, 2009).
