The Steering Committee is comprised of representatives of the Victorian government and Victorian Traditional Owners and is chaired by Professor Mick Dodson.

The Committee was established early in 2008 to guide the development of the Victorian Native Title Settlement Framework. Its final report was released in December 2008 and included recommendations as to how the Framework would best be formulated.
