The Yugul Mangi Group of Elders were involved in the Mutual Respect Agreement with the Northern Territory Police Force. They were the peak body for the following language and clan groups in the area in that agreement: Mara, Ngandi, Alawa, Nunggubuyu, Rittarrngu, Wandarang and Ngakakan.
