The Coomaditchie United Aboriginal Corporation was established in 1993 for the chief purpose of enhancing young Aboriginal people's engagement with their local heritage. It represents the East Coast Saltwater People from the south coast of New South Wales. The Corporation has been involved in the following kinds of activities:
the provision of training and employment for members of the local community;
the regeneration of land in the vicinity of the Coomaditchie Lagoon; and
the creation and sale of artworks through the Coomaditchie Artists' Co-operative.
The Corporation is also a signatory to the Illawarra Regional Partnership Agreement (RPA), which was signed on 9 December 2010. | |
