The area covered by this Indigenous Land Use Agreement (ILUA) comprises around 326 hectares of land known as NT Portion 6990. It is situated north of the Marshall River, in the vicinity of the Dulcie Range National Park in the Northern Territory. The ILUA area falls within the jurisdiction of the Central Desert Shire Council.
Legal Status: Registered with the National Native Title Tribunal on the Register of Indigenous Land Use Agreements on 29 June 2011. This is an authorised Area Agreement under the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth).

Summary Information:
This Indigenous Land Use Agreement (ILUA) was agreed between the following parties:

- the Central Land Council;
- the Solicitor for the Northern Territory; and
- Alan George Dempsey Peltharre, Ronnie Webb Peltharre and Raymond Webb Penangke (the Native Title Parties).

The purpose of this ILUA is to provide consent for the grant of a term Crown Lease over the area covered by this ILUA, which is to be converted into a community living area.

Contents of this ILUA

Pursuant to this ILUA, the Land Council and the Native Title Parties agree to the following Agreed Actions, whether or not they constitute future acts:

- the grant of a term Crown Lease pursuant to the Crown Lands Act 1992 (NT) over the ILUA area;
- the conversion of that Crown Lease to a community living area for the nominated Aboriginal Corporation in accordance with s 16(2) of the Miscellaneous Acts Amendment (Aboriginal Community Living Areas) Act 1989 (NT).

The parties also agree that the right to negotiate provisions in Subdivision P, Division 3, Part 2 of the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth) do not apply to the future acts to which consent has been granted under this ILUA.

Background to native title in the ILUA area

The area covered by this ILUA is subject to the Dulcie Ranges registered native title claim, which was filed with the Federal Court of Australia as proceeding NTD6034/02 on 7 November 2002. This claim relates to approximately 215.5 square kilometres of land, and remains active.
