The Woorabinda Rehabilitation Facility Indigenous Land Use Agreement (ILUA) is an area agreement between Central Queensland Indigenous Development Limited (applicant) and Royce Richardson, Pamela Hegarty, Lillian Harrison, Steven Freeman, Sharyn Blair, Diane Evans and Edgar Freeman on their own behalf and on behalf of the native title groups (the Wadja People and Gangulu Nation). The purpose of the ILUA is to allow for the grant of a lease over the agreement area. The ILUA commenced upon the date of registration (the 14th November, 2011) and continues for the term of the lease and any subsequent term of reissue, re-grant, substitution, renewal or extension of the lease. The current term of the lease is 9 years and 11 months. | ||

Details of the Agreement The parties to the Woorabinda Rehabilitation Facility ILUA consent to the grant of a lease over the agreement area and all other acts necessary or expedient to give effect to the grant of the lease and any other future acts which permit, require or consists of the construction, operation, use, maintenance or repair of the facility. The lease will facilitate the construction and operation of a residential rehabilitation facility on 2400 sq. metres of land described as lease F on lot 6 WNA 141 Munns Road, Woorabinda as shown on survey plan 237572 (Queensland South Native Title Services, 2011). Background The Woorabinda Rehabilitation Facility Indigenous Land Use Agreement (ILUA) will provide a residential program for Woorabinda residents with drug and alcohol addictions (Queensland South Native Title Services, 2011). The Central Queensland Indigenous Development Ltd (CQID) is to open the rehabilitation centre in Woorabinda in early 2012 (CQID, Home; About CQID). The parties CQID was established in 2004 as a not-for-profit organisation responsible for the regional coordination and management of the Community Development Employment Program (CDEP) in central Queensland. CQID coordinates and delivers services in training and employment, child safety, community support, family support, alcohol and other drugs services, community and economic development projects (CQID, Home; About CQID). |
