The Kuruma Marthudunera combined claimant application was lodged in 1998 over 15,717.407 square kilometres in the Pilbara region, Western Australia. The claim has been registered and the Yamatji Marlpa Aboriginal Corporation is the representative body.

In 2016, a consent determination was handed down regarding a 4,106 square kilometer area and the Kuruma Marthudunera People found to hold native title.
