The Northern Peninsula Area Regional Council was formed in 2008 as part of the State Government's amalgamation policy. The Bamaga and Seisia Island Councils, and the Injinoo, New Mapoon and Umagico Aboriginal Councils were all amalgamated with the Northern Peninsula Area Regional Council. |
