The purpose of this agreement is provide the mining company Sandfire Resources with the right to conduct undertake certain activities on Yugunga-Nya country.

Details of the Agreement

Commencement

The agreement commences on the date of execution by the parties. This date, however, is not specified in the ILUA extract. The agreement continues to operate for so long as the proponent maintains an interest in any mining tenement or ancillary title in the ILUA area unless terminated by the agreement in writing by the parties.

Future acts

The parties agree that the right to negotiate provisions in Part 2, Division 3, Subdivision P of the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth) do not apply to future acts.

The parties agree to the doing of future acts within the ILUA area. They agree that these acts are valid and that all past invalid future acts are validated by the agreement.

Native Title history

The Yugunga-Nya People are a native title group represented the Yamatji Marlpa Aboriginal Corporation.

Yugunga-Nya country covers approximately 30,335 square kilometres of land in the mid-west region of the State. Their country includes the mining towns Meekatharra and Cue.
