The North Queensland Land Council (NQLC) is the Native Title Representative Body for a region covering approximately 943,000 square kilometres of lands and waters. The Northern Queensland Land Council is dedicated to ensuring that "the native title rights and interests of every traditional owner within their region is legally recognised, and for Aboriginal people to benefit culturally, socially and economically from the secure possession of their traditional land and waters" (North Queensland Land Council 2021).
