The North Queensland Land Council (NQLC) is the Native Title Representative Body for a region covering approximately 943,000 square kilometres of lands and waters.

The NQLC was incorporated on 29 March 1994 (under the name of "North Queensland Land Council Aboriginal Corporation").

From 1 July 2008 the NQLC also represents the area previously represented by the Central Queensland Land Council Aboriginal Corporation. This is part of a restructuring of NTRBs in Queensland, following a review by the federal government (NNTT 2008: 5; Brough 2007).

The Northern Queensland Land Council is dedicated to ensuring that "the native title rights and interests of every traditional owner within their region is legally recognised, and for Aboriginal people to benefit culturally, socially and economically from the secure possession of their traditional land and waters" (North Queensland Land Council 2021).
