Summary Information: | |
The North Queensland Gas Pipeline Central Indigenous Land Use Agreement (ILUA) relates to the development of a gas pipeline. This ILUA allows the North Queensland Gas Pipeline Project group to proceed with plans to construct the central section of a 390 kilometre gas pipeline from Moranbah to Townsville, while ensuring the protection of cultural heritage for traditional owner groups. The southern and northern sections of the pipeline are covered by related agreements (see below). Nine traditional owner groups are covered by the entirety of the pipeline.
The parties consent to the grant of the 'Project Rights', those being all the necessary 'approvals, consents, licences, titles, renewals and other entitlements that may be required' for the project in the area of the agreement. The parties also agree not to challenge the validity of any of these Project Rights.
Further information about the gas pipeline and related energy production project, is available on the Enertrade website at: http://www.enertrade.com.au/PDFS/ET005_NQ_GAS_PIPELINE.pdf (at 21 June 2005). |
