The area of this ILUA covers the northern section of the gas pipeline corridor, located north north-west of Moranbah towards Townsville in north east Queensland. The ILUA is within the Burdekin Shire Council and the Thuringowa and Townsville City Councils.

Summary Information:
The North Queensland Gas Pipeline Northern Indigenous Land Use Agreement (ILUA) relates to the development of a gas pipeline. This ILUA allows the North Queensland Gas Pipeline Project group to proceed with plans to construct the northern section of a 390 kilometre gas pipeline from Moranbah to Townsville, while ensuring the protection of cultural heritage for traditional owner groups. The southern and central sections of the pipeline are covered by related agreements (see below). Nine traditional owner groups are covered by the entirety of the pipeline.

The parties consent to the grant of the 'Project Rights', those being all the necessary 'approvals, consents, licences, titles, renewals and other entitlements required' for the project in the area of the agreement. Unlike the related Southern and Central ILUAs, the information available on the agreement does not state whether the parties specifically agree not to challenge the validity of any of these Project Rights.
