The Northern Territory Aboriginal Health Partnership Framework Agreement 2015-2020 ('the Agreement') seeks to promote work between parties to this agreement, and local communities in order to improve health outcomes in the Northern Territory. The Agreement seeks to reaffirm the goal of improving health outcomes for Aboriginal people in the Northern Territory as expressed in previous agreements by providing a mechanism to share information and collaborate. The Agreement seeks to achieve its aim of improving health outcomes for Aboriginal people through the principles of collaboration, respect, commitment and recognition. Commitments under this agreement include: o National indigenous Reform Agreement (NIRA) o The National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Plan 2013-2023; o The Northern Territory Health Aboriginal Health Plan 2015-18; and o The AMSANT Strategic plan o An accessible and culturally safe health system that improves the effectiveness of Aboriginal community controlled health services. o Streamlined reporting requirements o Effective clinical data, and data shared between parties o Sharing financial investment information between the parties o Workforce strategies to improve care and coordination with health services In working towards these commitments, the parties agreed to appropriately share the responsibility and work together whilst respecting the existing individual roles and responsibilities of all parties. The parties also agreed to fulfil their commitments to the Northern Territory Aboriginal Health Forum, including maintaining the effectiveness of and reporting to the Forum. |
