Summary Information:

The National Congress of Australia's First Peoples was a national voice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. A public company limited by guarantee and registered as a charity on 3 December 2012, it was established with federal government funding but was structured to be independent of government (Debra Jopson, 2010).

The National Congress was forced out of operation in July 2019 due to insufficient funding (Cassandra Morgan, 2019).
